Marriage Certificate
How to Get a Marriage Certificate:
In compliance with Act No. 2019-340 signed by Governor Ivey on May 31, 2019, Tuscaloosa County Probate Office marriage certificate process is now:
- Visit the Alabama Department of Public Health’s website to fill out the certificate of marriage and print. Couples are to complete and sign before a notary public the Alabama Certificate of Marriage form, ADPH-HS50. Once the form is completed, it is to be brought to the Probate Office for recording within 30 days from the last date signed by either spouse. The Office of Probate Judge does not offer notary services for marriage certificates.
- Minimum age requirement remains 16 years of age. Anyone under 18 years of age requires the consent of a parent or legal guardian. A ceremony is optional.
- The cost of recording is $75.00. Cash or Visa/Mastercard. No Refunds.
