Important Info About Property Taxes
Property Taxes are DUE on October 1st and become DELINQUENT after December 31st of each year. Courtesy Notices are mailed to the property owner before October 1st so that all property info can be verified. Make sure your mailing address is correct.
Where To Pay
Tuscaloosa County Tax Collectors Office is responsible for the Collection of taxes on all property (real and personal) assessed In Tuscaloosa County.
Mortgage Company Escrow Accounts – If your property taxes are paid thru your mortgage company, it is your responsibility to contact your mortgage company to confirm that your taxes are paid or that the mortgage company should pay them if not paid.
Delinquent Property Taxes
Property taxes are DELINQUENT after December 31 of each year.
- January 1st penalties and interest will begin to accrue and added to the base tax amount.
- After January 1st contact the office for the updated tax amount. A delinquent tax notice will be mailed out.
