Tuscaloosa County Agriculture
The Tuscaloosa County Commission supports the County’s agriculture, forestry, and outdoor industries through the County Agent/Agriculture Specialist. The core responsibilities include:
- Education & Outreach: Deliver research‑based information on crop and livestock production, pest and disease management, soil health, and sustainable farming practices
- Problem Solving: Provide on‑the‑ground advice for issues like soil testing, fertilizer recommendations, plant disease diagnosis, and animal health
- Technology & Innovation: Help implement new technologies, equipment, and techniques that improve efficiency and productivity
- Program Development: Organize and lead workshops, field days, seminars to share knowledge and build community skills
- Natural Resources: Advise on water management, erosion control, invasive species, and forestry and wildlife management.
