Tuscaloosa County Commission will hold a public hearing on August 19, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at 501 25th Street, Oakdale Elementary School to discuss the submission of an application for the Fiscal Year 2023 Clear Water State Revolving Fund Application. The County Commission is interested in obtaining all citizens’ input on community development needs within the county. As part of the hearing process citizens will be asked to verbally assist in the completion of a Needs Assessment document. The document will detail what the residents feel are the strengths and weaknesses of the community. The Board needs as much local participation as possible to reflect the true desires of the community as a whole, as well as the comments relating to the proposed project application. The State has established a maximum application request for each funding category. Activities that are eligible for funding include the improvement of public works. No displacement of persons will be proposed.
The Commission is proposing to extend the Tuscaloosa sanitary sewer collection system to areas of Culver Road, 31st Street East, 32nd Street, 52nd Court, 57th Court, 33rd Street, Johnson Road, 56th Avenue, Sanders Ferry Road, 60th Court, 40th Street, 41st Street, and 60th Avenue. The total project cost is estimated at $5,569,103.00. The Commission proposes to contribute $3,000,000.00 in funds make up the balance. All citizens, including those in the targeted area, are encouraged to attend to comment on the proposed activities.
