How Do I?

When are property taxes due?

They are due without penalty after October 1st and delinquent after Dec. 31st each year.

What are normal office hours for the Tax Collector’s Office?

Normal office hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. except for holidays.

How to pay or research property taxes?

Mail it in, pay online, telephone in to us with credit card information, or pay in person at the office.

When do penalties and interest begin?

Penalties and interest begin January 1st and increase until payment is made.

When is the Tax Sale?

Tuscaloosa County’s tax sale is always held the last Tuesday in May.

How do I get a list of tax sale properties?

Check back in April for a list of Tax Sale properties.

They are also published in the classified legal section of either the Tuscaloosa News or The Northport Gazette beginning in mid-April concluding in early May. You can contact our office the latter half of May for a current listing as well.

Where does the Tax Sale take place?

In the basement of the Tuscaloosa County Courthouse in the County Commission Chambers.

What are the hours of the Tax Sale?

Between the legal hours of sale beginning promptly at 10:00 am until conclusion.
